Emily is a licensed associate counselor (LAC), with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Inspired by her own experiences with anxiety, depression, and therapy, Emily is dedicated to helping others acquire the tools they need for self-empowerment.
With extensive experience in the outpatient mental health field, Emily has worked with diverse populations in individual, group, and educational settings. She has supported clients from various backgrounds and socioeconomic levels, including mandated populations, and victims of crime.
Emily's primary goal is to assist clients in developing and applying strategies to navigate life's challenges, regain control, and achieve a deeper understanding of themselves and their mental health. She employs a range of therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Coming from a large military family, Emily has moved frequently throughout her life. Emily's family settled in Arizona after her dad retired when she was 15. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing video games, engaging in crafts, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with her family and her golden retriever, Logan. Logan, a service dog in training, often accompanies Emily in her sessions.
