Meet Christina Behrens
Hello. I’m Christina Behrens, the owner of Inside Out Therapy + Consulting. Let me tell you more about myself.
Specialized Treatment
I create pathways for limitless success and harmony. I have many years of experience in various settings, including community behavioral health, inpatient, intensive outpatient programs, groups, and private practice. As a therapist, I utilize EMDR and sand tray therapy as the primary modalities to treat various concerns affecting one’s well-being. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, OCD, and trauma disorders.
Education and Professional Experience
I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Arizona State University. After that, I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, where I completed a year-long internship working with court-mandated clients. While working at the internship, I realized many—if not all—of the clients had issues that began and were untreated in childhood.
FINDING MY TRUE PASSION
I trained in EMDR, a very highly effective method, to address trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and a myriad of other issues. I also decided to train in sand tray therapy to address unspoken trauma and reach people at their developmental level through play. I do not believe therapy is forever. I am a firm believer, in people’s ability to “Go and Grow!” once they have healed and built a solid foundation of coping skills to see them successfully into the future.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 6-year-old son, 2-year-old daughter, and our dogs and cats when I am not in session. As a family, we love bonding with our extended family and friends. With any remaining spare time, I also enjoy fostering Great Danes, yoga, learning about naturopathy, and reading.
